Kaumarbhritya is one of the important branch of Ayurveda dealing with the care of the child from the conception till the maturity i.e. adolescences. This department of the institution is fulfilling all the criteria mentioned in the CCIM norms in terms of staff & necessary requisites. The department is well equipped for the benefit of students with necessary charts, models & sophisticated instruments to undergo treatment with integrated approach keeping parallel with the modern pediatric department.
The students are imparted integrated & updated knowledge the oretically as well as practically from both Ayurvedic & modern aspects. Departmental OPD & IPD along with the NICU & PICU is the key feature of the hospital. Students are benefited with the management of emergency condition in Neonates, younger & older children. Regular Suvarna Prashan, Immunization & departmental project on malnutrition Anemia & immunity of school children is under process.
Most of the staff in the Dept. has completed their post graduation from renowned institutions and has sufficient skill in Research having outstanding Academic caliber .All the staff are well skilled to discharge their responsibility with very good clinical acumen . All have attended National , International Seminars and workshop to update the knowledge time to time.
Kaumarbhritya Dept. has recognized P. G. Teachers by M.U.H.S for the continuation of Post graduation in concerned subject. So far, the Department has produced more than 6 Paediatric Postgraduates since 2010. All the pass out batches are well settled in colleges and practices. The result of students in Under graduation as well as Post graduation courses are satisfactory for which getting attention from students and parents for admission. The Dept. has produced more than sixty publications in national and international Journals and more than forty dissertations so far.
In addition to this, department is a recognized center in Maharashtra for Ph. D in Kaumarbhritya and 3 students have registered their name with the approval of synopsis by MUHS. Nashik Maharashtra .Preliminary PhD examination of the second batch PhD scholar has already been completed with the preparation for admission of third batch. for 2023-2024.
