Department of Sanskrit Samhita Siddhant was established in 1989 since then the department is growing.  The post graduation course started in 2010 with objective of  conducting outstanding research  & expertise in PG scholars .

Department is concerned with basic principles of Ayurveda. Basic Principles are very important in Ayurveda. Without knowledge of Samhita & basic principles we can not understand or learn the Ayurveda.

The dept. is related with all the first to Third years subjects of BAMS. The subjects.are Sanskrit, Padarth Vidnyan, Ashtang Hridayam, Ayurved Itihas, Charak Samhita  Purwardha & Charak Samhita Uttarardha as well as Samhita Adhyayan –1 & Samhita Adhyayan –2, Samhita Adhyayan –3.  

These subjects are very important & interesting that unfolds secrets of our life spirit & of the material world. The knowledge of pramana improves the intelligence and common sense. The knowledge of Samhita & Basic Principle are most useful to all students and teacher for the enlightening of their intelligence. It enables the scholars to adopt basic principles of ayurved in their clinical practice. The department also provides the platform for PG scholars to do research work in unexplored areas like ayurvedic manuscript logy. It also expertises the scholars for teaching in academia.

The Faculties of department published variant books related to scope of subject. We have well trained P.G. teachers & well equipped hospital for literary research. Different research works are conducted from 2010-2011 Every year 06 new post graduation scholars registers in Samhita department for M.D course.
